Disconnecting Hard Drives - Forget and Eject

Forget vs Eject

There are two options for disconnecting a hard drive from Monument.  Eject a hard drive will safely remove the hard drive so that it can be connected again. Forget will remove the hard drive from Monument's memory.

Note: If the Primary Drive is "forgot", then all photos, albums, people, and tags will no longer be available in the app (the content will still be on the hard drive). This should only be done if a new hard drive is being connected.

Eject A Hard Drive

  1. Go to Settings > Hard Drives
  2. Select the Primary or Backup drive

  3. Click on Eject

  4. Click on Eject in the in-app message

  5. The hard drive will be Inactive until it's connected again

Forget A Hard Drive

  1. Go to Settings > Hard Drives

  2. Select the Primary or Backup drive

  3. Click on Forget

  4. Click on Forget in the first warning message

  5. Click on Forget in the second warning message
